Destini Michelle Munoz was charged with one count of being involved in an improper relationship between an educator and a 18-year-old female student. A student told her mother about her relationship, and the parent called district police. Allegedly an affidavit states three witnesses told police the teacher admitted to them that she was involved sexually with the student.

Christie Elliot, 25, English teacher, Empire High School, Vail AZ

Christie Elliot has been arrested on allegations of a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old male student. Allegedly a parent found innappropriate messages on his child’s cell phone and reported the messages to the school because it was believed the message were from his English teacher. It is alleged that some of the messages referred to kissing and the “need to be more careful”. A police investigation included executing search warrants and conducting interviews and concluded that the boy had an inappropriate sexual relationship with his English teacher, Christie Elliot.

Update June 2010: Christie Elliot was jailed again for violating the conditions of her release. Allegedly she tried to communicate with the 15-year-old victim via a third party, to offer him money to change his testimony.

Update June 30 2011: Christie Elliot has been sentenced to three years probation after a plea deal with prosecutors.
