Marie Johnson, 40, Math teacher, Granada High School, Livermore CA

Marie Johnson has been arrested and charged with 24 counts that range from sexual intercourse with a minor, lewd acts with a minor, and oral copulation, according to police. A student went to the school administration and claimed he had a sexual relationship with her from Dec 2010 to May 2011, when he was 14 years old. They met through social media, which of course led to car sex.

Of course many students came to "Miss J"s defense, and said what a great person and teacher she was. Other were more rude. One senior at the school felt bad for Johnson's son, who attends Granada High.

Marie Johnson is married with 2 children and worked at the school for 13 years. She is currently in jail and on paid administrative leave.

Coincidentally, Livermore is also the hometown of 43 year old "Hummer Mom" Christine Shreeve Hubbs, who was charge with 67 counts of sexual assault in Aug 2010.

Update Jan 21 2012:  Happy 41st Birthday Marie !!!  According to police, she admitted to the crimes.

Update Feb 23 2012:  Marie Johnson pleaded not guilty.

Megan Trainor, 24, Math teacher, Person High School, Roxboro North Carolina

Megan Trainor got arrested. She faces a felony charge of taking indecent liberties with a student, and a misdemeanor charge of preparing obscene photographs, slides or motion pictures. In English, that means she sent nude photos of herself to a student, and he sent them to everyone in the school. Carol Ann Hope, 36, Math teacher, New Heights Middle School, Jefferson SC

Carol Ann Hope has been charged with having sex with a 14 year old student. Once at her own home, and once at a hotel.  Here's the video (of her court appearance...).

Sherri Baffa, 36, Math teacher, Sullivan East High School, Bluff City TN

Sherri Baffa has been arrested on seven counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. The police received an initial report of the alleged crimes in May of this year. Evidence includes explicit photos of an adult female and juvenile male, dated 2007. Police identified the victim as 16-years-old at the time of the alleged offenses. Allegedly the indictment describes seven different incidents that allegedly took place in February 2007.

The indictments against Baffa allege she, “did unlawfully, knowingly and feloniously promote, employ, use, assist, transport or permit a minor to participate in the performance of, or in the production of, acts or material which includes the minor engaging in sexual activity.”

She is expected in back court on September 30.

Update Dec 5 2011:  Evidently the photos that allegedly show the teacher having sex with a 16 year old male were provided to police by the teacher's former husband.  The student is denying that it is him in the photos.  And Sherri Baffa is denying that she had any type of sexual relationship with the boy, implying the pictures were photoshopped or something.  The case was reset for Feb 15.

Update Feb 16 2012: Sheeri Baffa appeared in court briefly, and the case was again reset to Apr 27 at the request of Sullivan County Assistant Public Defender Andrew Gibbons.

This case is starting to smell fishy to me. The EX-Husband finds the pictures 4 years later? Either the pictures are real, or they were photoshopped. An expert could settle this matter in one day. Five months since the arrest, and no one knows if the evidence is real or not? Why are the authorities in Johnson County taking months and months on this? Is there any other evidence?

Kimberly Bynum, 29, math teacher, Vina High School, Vina AL

Kimberly Dawn Bynum was jailed on a charge of school employee engaging in deviant sexual intercourse with a student under the age of 19. According to police, Bynum reportedly became friends with a 12th grade student that gradually turned into a sexual relationship towards the end of the school year.

It would not have been a problem, if she could have just waited a little longer.

And really, they have to call it "deviant sexual intercourse"?

Update Nov 15 2011: Kimberly Bynum has been indicted by the Grand Jury. Her arraignment is cheduled for Jan 4 2012, and the case could go to trial in Feb.

Rene Chantel Frank, 27, Math teacher, Charles Drew High School, Riverdale GA

Rene Chantel Frank was arrested and charged with sexual assault of a person in custody/school. She reportedly admitted to police that she engaged in sexual acts with a 17 year-old male.

It all started when the student's father asked her to transport the boy to Charles Drew High School. Which of course led to backseat sex. To complicate things slightly, the teacher claims she is pregnant with twins and that the 17-year-old boy is the father. Another student claims to have slept with her too, an accusation Frank denies.

Katherine Robbins, 40, math teacher, New Hope High School, Columbus MS

Katherine Robbins, a 40 year old married teacher with 2 young children, was allegedly involved in a sexual relationship with a 17 year old student. Allegedy she flirted with, hugged, and touched male students in inappropriate ways.

Update May 2011: Katherine Robbins has been indicted. She pleaded not guilty to sexual battery charges. The case is scheduled for trial August 22 2011.

Update Aug 24 2011: has been continued until the next session of Lowndes County Circuit Court in December.

Barbara Jeanne Anderson, 37, Math teacher, Kentlake High School, Kent WA

Barbara Jeanne Anderson was arrested, allegedy due to a relationship she had with a student at her school. Allegedy the student told his uncle he was getting laid by a teacher. Allegedy the students mother found a crapload of text messages from the teacher, on her son's phone. Allegedy she tutored the student after school, and he said she was the best focking math teacher he ever had. Big surprise there, huh?

July 29 2011: Barbara Jeanne Anderson pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual misconduct with a minor for having sexual contact with a 17-year-old male student.

Update Sept 12 2011: Barbara Anderson was sentenced to eight months in jail.  Some more details of the case were revealed, such as: the boy was suicidal, the teacher took him under her wing, they exchanged over 800 text messages, she texted him her sex fantasies, they screwed in his car, the mom got suspicious / found the text messages, etc etc etc.

Valynne Bowers, 39, Math teacher, Bountiful Junior High School, Bountiful UT

Valynne Bowers has been arrested for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy. Bowers came to police attention after another teacher, Linda Nef, confessed that she had engaged in sexual activity with the same boy when he was 13. Bowers had an affair with the boy from Jan 2 2009 until Feb 27 2009.

Update Nov 7 2009: Valynne Bowers trial is scheduled for Mar 8 2010.

Update Feb 26 2010: Valynne Bowers is set for trial in April.

Update April 7 2010: Valynne Bowers is trying to get her 'confession' statement suppressed.

Update April 10 2010: Valynne Bowers trial was canceled.

Update Feb 14 2011: Valynne Bowers pleaded guilty to two counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony. She was originally charged with eight first-degree felonies including five counts of rape and three counts of forcible sodomy. She could serve 30 years.

Update Apr 4 2011: Valynne Bowers was sentenced to the maximum. One to 15 years for each count, served consecutively.

Stephanie Ragusa, 31, Math teacher, Davidsen Middle School, Tampa FL

Stephanie Ragusa has been arrested and charged with five counts of lewd and lascivious battery on allegations of having sex with a 15-year-old boy. Investigators allege that Ragusa performed oral sex on the boy twice, and had intercourse with him three other times, between Oct 1 2006 to May 4 2007. It is further alleged that the victim was also able to describe tattoos located on either side of Ragusa’s who-ha, tattoos which could only be seen if she wasn’t wearing clothes.

Update April 15 2008: Stephanie Ragusa has been arrested again. She was slamming another 15 year old. Police were able to link her via cell phone text message records. Allegedly she had sex with the boy as recently as Mar 10 2008.

Update April 28 2008: Stephanie Ragusa has been arrested again. Victim #2 did not show up for school, so police went to his house. They found Stephanie Ragusa there! So she got arrested for the third time in six weeks.

Update May 8 2008: Police believe there are now a total of four victims, and are investigating if there are others.

Update July 8 2008: Police release pictures of Ragusa's tattoos.

Update June 28 2010: Stephanie Ragusa was convicted of having sex with 2 students, and was called a sexual predator today by a judge who sentenced her to 10 years in prison. Ragusa has already spent the last two years in jail. Ragusa plead guilty to repeated sexual encounters with a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy.
