Melissa Mathis, 37, English teacher, Ripley High School, Ripley MS

Melissa Mathis teacher was arrested and charged with two counts of sexual battery by a person of authority. Someone made a complaint to school officials, who contacted police. The police investigation found evidence that she had sex with, and had been sexting pictures to a student. The student admitted everything to police. Two incidents happened within a week of each other. Everything above is alleged, sorry I forgot to say that.

Interesting fact I've never seen posted before in other cases: This cougar is listed as 5’8” and 145 lbs. According to this BMI calculator, that puts her BMI at 22, and her weight in the 21st percentile for her age and height. So 79% of women her age are fatter - not bad at all, I wish I could find some better pictures of her.

Update Jan 27 2012: Melissa Mathis waived an indictment and has pleaded guilty to one count of sexual battery. She was sentenced to one year house arrest and five years post release supervision. Damn they do things quickly there in Mississippi! I have never heard of a case settled so quickly! Some go on for 2 or 3 years...

Deanna Marie Robert, 43, Science teacher, Tamassee-Salem Middle and High School, Salem SC

Deanna Marie Robert has been arrested and charge with “engaging child under 18 for sexual performance.” She is no longer a school district employee. Allegedly the offense took place with a boy she was tutoring after school.

Update Sept 26 2011: Deanna pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery with a student. She has been placed on house arrest for a year, with 5 years probation.

Cynthia Horvath, 45, English teacher, Warner Christian Academy, South Daytona FL

Cynthia Horvath, a former English teacher and cheer coach at Warner Christian Academy in South Daytona, Florida was arrested on allegations that she had a 4 month sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male student. Police claim that Horvath was having sex with her student in her car, in a Wal-Mart parking lot, grocery store parking lots, under a bridge, in hotels in Daytona Beach and all over Volusia County.

Update Feb 28 2009: Cynthia Horvath was sentenced to 1 year house arrest, and 7 years probation. I learned interesting details of this case: That the boy kept mementos of the encounters - Horvath's black thong underwear, motel keys and a picture of Cynthia Horvath.
