Lisa Gaye Placek, 45, Language Arts teacher, Traverse City West Senior High School, Traverse City MI

Lisa Gaye Placek has been arrested and charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Police allege that Placek met with a 15 year old male student while on Christmas break, and that she performed oral sex on the sophomore while in her car in Elmwood.

Placek was a well-liked girls volleyball coach and language arts teacher. The school district placed her on a leave of absence pending a criminal investigation on Jan 21, and terminated her employment on Jan 24.

Placek assuredly has a secure spot in the bleach blondest teacher arrested of all time.

Update Jan 2012: Placek was arraigned via video camera from her jail cell at around 3:30pm Monday afternoon. She was denied bail and is jailed until a Feb. 10 preliminary hearing. Wow, that is harsh!

Update Mar 2 2012: Placek plead guilty to a lesser count of assault with intent to commit sexual penetration. Sentencing will be Mar 12. She could get up to 10 years in prison. The prosecutor is happy with the plea, saying "We didn't have a statement from her. We could go to trial, and it could be a he-said, she-said type of situation."

Cynthia Horvath, 45, English teacher, Warner Christian Academy, South Daytona FL

Cynthia Horvath, a former English teacher and cheer coach at Warner Christian Academy in South Daytona, Florida was arrested on allegations that she had a 4 month sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male student.  Police claim that Horvath was having sex with her student in her car, in a Wal-Mart parking lot, grocery store parking lots, under a bridge, in hotels in Daytona Beach and all over Volusia County.

Update Feb 28 2009: Cynthia Horvath was sentenced to 1 year house arrest, and 7 years probation.  I learned interesting details of this case: That the boy kept mementos of the encounters - Horvath's black thong underwear, motel keys and a picture of Cynthia Horvath.

Mary Jo Spack, 45, English teacher, Freedom High School, Tampa FL

Mary Jo Spack was arrested and charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of minors and one count of unlawful sex with a minor. Police reports say Spack met two boys, ages 17 and 18, at a liquor store where she purchased booze. Then she took them to a Howard Johnson Express motel, where she rented a room, and 3 more teens joined the party. Spack was allegedly heard having sex with a 17-year-old in the shower. Mary Jo's fun ended when the student started bragging about boning a teacher. WESH Channel 2 in Orlando (NBC) says it was an orgy, but I did not see that allegation anywhere else.

Spack teaches at Freedom High School, which is located in the same county that Stephanie Ragusa got in trouble in.

Update March 2009: Spack pleaded guilty to felony battery, and was sentenced to five years probation.
