Amber Stroda turned herself in to the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, after a warrant was issued charging her with 6 felonies. She is charged with 3 counts of Feloniously Engaging in Consensual Intercourse, and 3 counts of Feloniously Engaging in Consensual Sodomny. Allegedly she was involved in inappropriate relations with two high school students.

Update Aug 7 2013: Amber plead guilty to three felony counts of unlawful sexual relations.

Update Nov 13 2013: Amber was sentenced to 15 weekends in jail, plus 7 years probation.

Lauren Redfern, 25, Gym teacher, Basalt High School, Basalt Colorado

Lauren Redfern has a warrant out for her arrest. She has agreed to turn herself in to police today. She will be charged with sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust. Allegedly she had repeated sexual contact with a 17 year old male student at the school. The student is a senior who is now 18. The relationship began in the fall and went on for 3 or 4 months.

Redfern graduated from Basalt High school in 2004, and was coaching the girls basketball team. Evidently Lauren was a great high school basketball player back then.

Update Feb 16 2012: Redfern was booked today, and will remain in jail pending her first court appearance. I hope someone told her about underarm deodorant.

Update Feb 16 2012: Some new info I saw today: Allegedly Lauren and her young sex partner were caught screwing in the teachers bathroom.

Update Feb 23 2012:  Looks like she resigned her position.

Lisa Gaye Placek, 45, Language Arts teacher, Traverse City West Senior High School, Traverse City MI

Lisa Gaye Placek has been arrested and charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Police allege that Placek met with a 15 year old male student while on Christmas break, and that she performed oral sex on the sophomore while in her car in Elmwood.

Placek was a well-liked girls volleyball coach and language arts teacher. The school district placed her on a leave of absence pending a criminal investigation on Jan 21, and terminated her employment on Jan 24.

Placek assuredly has a secure spot in the bleach blondest teacher arrested of all time.

Update Jan 2012: Placek was arraigned via video camera from her jail cell at around 3:30pm Monday afternoon. She was denied bail and is jailed until a Feb. 10 preliminary hearing. Wow, that is harsh!

Update Mar 2 2012: Placek plead guilty to a lesser count of assault with intent to commit sexual penetration. Sentencing will be Mar 12. She could get up to 10 years in prison. The prosecutor is happy with the plea, saying "We didn't have a statement from her. We could go to trial, and it could be a he-said, she-said type of situation."

Whitney Dow Buck, 38, Business teacher, Morehead High School, Eden NC

Whitney Dow Buck was arrested and charged with sexual activity with a student by a teacher, school administrator, student teacher, coach, or school safety officer. Evidently someone tipped off police about the relationship. Buck was an employee of the Rockingham County Schools System since August 2010, and resigned on Jan 18.

I have NO IDEA if this is the same Whitney Buck who wrote the blog stayathomemommyblogger

And check this out: There is a social studies teacher at Morehead High School named Tommy Buck. And the Whitney Buck that wrote the blog above, is married to a guy named Tommy. Some coincidence, right? OK, I might be able to put 2 and 2 together. Is it possible that Tommy and Whitney worked together at the high school, and she was banging a student, right under his nose? I can't comprehend that, I feel so sorry for Tommy and those 2 kids, I do not know what to say. Speechless!

Laura Michelle Gallegos, 38, teacher's aide, Shasta High School, Redding, CA

Laura Michelle Gallegos has been arrested for allegedly engaging in sex with with a member of the Orland High School wrestling team, including in the stands during a state wrestling meet in Bakersfield. She is also accused of having exchanges of sexually explicit text messages with another juvenile male on the wrestling team.

Evidently one of the students mothers was checking his cell phone, and he admitted he was sexting the teacher's aide. A police investigation ensued. Gallegos was the mother of a wrestler at an unidentified school.

Update June 14 2011:  Her trial is set to begin Nov 14.

Update Feb 18 2012: Laura Michelle Gallegos changed her plea to guilty, to one felony count of arranging a meeting with a minor with the purpose of committing lewd acts. She was facing a trial beginning Feb 21. As part of the deal, 9 felony charges were dismissed. She faces up to 4 years in prison.

Randi Savage, 31, Reading teacher, Cheatham Middle School, Clarksville TX

Randi Lynn Bratcher Savage has been arrested and charged with two felonies. She is alleged to have sent sexually explicit notes, cellphone messages, and facebook messages to a 13 year old boy. Allegedy she kissed and hugged the boy. The boy's parents contacted the police. The school has removed her from her teaching position.

Update June 12 2012: The boy's mother found a note in the kids pants while doing the laundry.  Allegedly it was written by Savage Randi, and detailed sexually explicit things she wanted to do with the boy.

Update Feb 14 2012: Randi pleaded guilty, was sentenced to 5 five years in prison.

Dianne Leach, 41, substitute school teacher, Ella Lewis School, Steuben ME

Dianne Leach was charged with two counts of gross sexual assault of a student.

Allegedly an investigation was launched when a teacher confiscated the victim’s cell phone during a class and saw a text message from Leach that raised concerns.

Update Feb 6 2012: Diane Leach pleaded no contest to charges of molesting a 14-year-old boy. Allegedly Leach had a sexual relationship with the student for four months beginning in December 2010. The state of Maine has recommended a 6 month jail sentence.

Kristin Ostmann, 25, Science teacher, Olmsted High School, Olmsted OH

This young teacher, Kristin Ostmann, allegedly rented a room at the Red Roof Inn so she could hook up with an 18 year old student. Allegedly her hotel room of choice was the Red Roof Inn in Middleburg Heights - on four occasions - Feb. 18, 19, 25 and March 4. She resigned April 15th, before her first year of teaching was over. Talk about being unable to control your behavior!

Update May 13 2011: Kristin Ostmann was arraigned on four charges of sexual battery. She pleaded not guilty to all charges. The judge said she must submit to an HIV test and have no contact with the victim.

Update Aug 17 2011: Kristin Ostmann accepted a plea deal. She pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in exchange for a reduction of charges.

Update Oct 4 2011: Kristin Ostmann was sentenced to six months in prison.

Shannon Alicia Schmieder, 38, Teaching assistant, Jefferson Parkway Elementary School, Newnan Georgia

Shannon Alicia Schmieder is charged by Coweta County authorities with having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old male child, who was not a student.

Update Feb 17 2012: Shannon Schmieder was sentenced to 40 years in prison, and will have to serve at least 20. The sentence is believed to be the longest ever in U.S. history for this type of crime. She plead guilty to two counts of child molestation.

Kristi Metzger, 28, 4th grade teacher, Village Woods Elementary, Fort Wayne IN

Kristi Metzger is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old boy at least five times at her home last year. The boy told authorities that during one of the encounters, Metzger permitted him to drink three or four beers out of her refrigerator before having sex with him. The boy says Metzger knew how old was. Metzger is charged with three counts of sexual misconduct with a minor and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.  Evidently the boy lived on her street, and she never taught the boy at school.

Update Nov 2 2011:  A mistrial was declared in this case.  Read about it here.  Frankly it sounds like he-said, she-said, not sure if I believe this story.

Update Feb 2 2012:   Metzger changed her plea, and agreed to plead guilty to sexual misconduct with a minor. She will receive a 10 year suspended sentence, four of those years she'll spend on probation. Sentencing will be in March.

Bethyl Shepherd, 34, special education teacher, Reed High School, Sparks NV

Bethyl Shepherd was arrested for allegedly having a threesome with two 17-year-old students in her car. She claims that one student forced her into the activities, and that she did not have any contact with the other.

A teacher's aide at this same school, Marie L. Fisher, was arrested one month ago on charges that she had sex with a 15 year old student and sent him graphic text message photos.

Update Jan 26 2012:  Bethyl Shepherd was sentenced to 60 days in jail, and five years probation for unlawful sexual relations between a school employee and pupil. She told a mental health evaluator that there were SEVEN male students, aged 15 to 17, with whom she engaged with in oral sex. She blames her bi-polar mental disorder for her sexual misconduct.

On a serious note, I feel extremely bad for this woman. Evidently this has ruined her life - her career, her marriage, her relationship with her children, her finances, etc. She had to sell her car for the money and lives with her mother. Total Tragedy.  Regardless, she deserved much more than 60 days jail time.  What a joke of a sentence.

Jessica Coz, 30, band teacher, Castle Dome Middle school, Yuma AZ

Jessica Coz has reportedly been arrested on allegations of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old male student.

Update Dec 2012: Jessica Coz is in really really deep do-do. She plead guilty to two counts of attempted sexual conduct with a minor on Dec 16. Per her plea agreement, Coz faces no less than 15 years in prison for one count, lifetime probation for the other, and she must register as a sex offender. She will be sentenced January 20th.

Update Jan 20 2012: Jessica Coz was SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS IN PRISON. That's the longest sentence I've seen for a crime like this. Somehow I think her lawyer was not as good as Debra Lafavre's lawyer.

Michelle Rose Chlan, 26, Teacher's Aide, Shakopee High School, Shakopee Minnesota

Michelle Rose Chlan has been charged with three counts of third degree Criminal Sexual Conduct. She is accused of having sexual relations with a male student, who was 16-years-old when the alleged relationship began, which lasted from June 2009 to July 2010.

Update Dec 2011: Michelle Chlan pleaded guilty.

Update Feb 23 2012: Michelle Chlan has been sentenced to three months in jail. Allegedly she performed oral sex on the boy once behind a K-Mart and twice behind a Burnsville soccer complex.

Elizabeth Proctor, ?, English teacher, Cooper High School, Abilene TX

Elizabeth Proctor was arrested and charged with an improper relationship between an educator and student. Allegedly they started a sexual relationship in Dec 2009, which lasted 11 months. She resigned here position at the school on Jan 26 2011 after beign placed on administrative leave.

The student told a television station that the two had sex more than once at her home when her husband was at work, while her 3 children were down the hall in their bedroom.

Update July 27 2011: Elizabeth Proctor was sentenced to seven years probation. She must surrender her teaching license, but will not have to register as a sex offender.

I saw one reference somewhere that she pleaded guilty, but could find very few details.

Christen Hayes, 30, Teacher's Assistant, Onondaga Road Elementary School, Syracuse NY

Christen Hayes is charged with three counts of rape involving a student. The Sheriff’s Office says Hayes engaged in sexual activity with the student on several occasions from June 2009 to February 2010. The relationship between Hayes and the boy came to light after the teenager was arrested in Broome County following an incident at Hayes' home. Hayes was employes by Onondaga-Cortland-Madison county BOCES.

Update Mar 2 2012: Hayes was sentenced to 10 years probation with six months in jail for a sexual relationship with an underage student.
