Abby McElhenny, 23, Spanish teacher, Boiling Springs High School, Boiling Springs SC
Abby McElhenny was allegedly seen by friends, holding hands with a teen at a restaurant, and the city’s annual Spring Fling festival. That teen's mother also found hundreds of text messages exchanged between teacher and student. OOOPS!
McElhenny resigned from her teaching position on Tuesday May 31, and turned herself into authorities on Wednesday June 1, when she was arrested. She has been charged with sexual battery of a student 16 or 17 years of age.

Deanna Marie Robert, 43, Science teacher, Tamassee-Salem Middle and High School, Salem SC
Deanna Marie Robert has been arrested and charge with “engaging child under 18 for sexual performance.” She is no longer a school district employee. Allegedly the offense took place with a boy she was tutoring after school.
Update Sept 26 2011: Deanna pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery with a student. She has been placed on house arrest for a year, with 5 years probation.

Sarah Jane Lindsay, 42, Kindergarten teacher, Boiling Springs Elementary, Spartanburg SC
Sarah Jane Lindsay is charged with nine counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and criminal sexual conduct with a minor between 11 and 14 years old. Evidently she and her good friend Audrey Beidleman Grabarkiewicz threw parties for teenagers that involved alcohol, marijuana and sex. Evidently Sarah is in much more trouble than her fellow cougar Audrey, due to the fact that Sarah screwed underage boys (I think under 14), while Audrey only screwed overage boys. One kid's parents found out he had been given alcohol, an investigation started, and then the parties were over...

After her original arrest in Sept 2010 she was released on a $50,000 bond, placed on home detention and required electronic monitoring. Lindsay was arrested after she couldn't give authorities documentation of where she went May 24. She will stay in jail until she goes to court.
Update Feb 9 2012: Sarah has pleaded guilty to lots of stuff. She was sentenced to 10 years, suspended to 40 months, and will receive credit for the 473 days she has already spent in jail. What the F does that mean? So is her sentence 10 years, or 40 months? I do not get it. Also Sarah looks much worse now.

Allena Williams Ward, 23, middle school teacher, Bell Street Middle School, Clinton SC
Allena Williams Ward was arrested and charged with five counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and six counts of lewd acts on a minor. The incidents occurred between November and continued up through the past few weeks.
Allena is accused of having sex with 5 boys whose ages range from 14 to 15. She was caught when an inappropriate note from the teacher to one of the victims was found in the garbage. Allegedly she had sex with five boys in locations including the school, at a motel, in a park and behind a restaurant. Some of the 14- and 15-year-old victims were students at Bell Street Middle School in Laurens School District 56, where Allenna Williams Ward taught. Others went to a different school. All of the victims are black. Allegedly as law enforcement closed in, she sent text messages to at least one of her alleged victims urging him to keep his mouth shut.
Ward has been fired from her job and is under house arrest. She is married and is a minister's daughter.

Update Feb 19 2008: Ward was sentenced to 15 years for each count, requiring that she serve 6 years of them in prison (to run concurrently). The Judge also required that she serve a minimum of 85% of that sentence before she may be considered for parole. The psychiatrist who evaluated Ward said she has a sexual disorder and is "very childlike", and blamed Ward's childlike behavior on her strict, small-town upbringing.
