Christy Smith has been arrested on allegations of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old male student. Smith allegedly had sexual intercourse with the boy at least 10 times, police said in a criminal complaint. She also performed oral sex on him twice, and she had him perform oral sex on her on at least five occasions.
Smith is charged with three counts of statutory sexual assault, six counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, three counts of unlawful contact with a minor and three counts of corruption of minors.
Update Oct 28 2010: Reportedly, another charge is pending against Christy Smith. Smith was charged with one count of corruption of minors and will be arraigned at a later date. This new charge alleges a second victim, a minor who was not one of her students, nor did he attend McCaskey High School. Reportedly, Smith remains incarcerated at Lancaster County Prison.
Update Feb 4 2011: Smith has
lost her teaching licence and is awaiting trial.
Update Jan 23 2012: Smith now faces
more charges. Appears that she took some pics of the boy she was with. Did I read that right? She has been in jail since Oct 8 2010? A year and 3 months? Nobody could/would bail her out? WTF?
