Colette Phelps was arrested after being accused of sexually molesting one of her 14 year old students. It is believed that the relationship began approximately April 10 and continued until June 1. Ironically she listed 'fist pumping' as one of her favorite sports.
Her lawyer Steven Clark said she was 'deeply embarrassed' by the charges, and he said he would present evidence that Phelps had a medical issue that could have played a part in the alleged abuse.Colette is married and has taught at the private middle school for 5 years.
Update Nov 15 2011: Colette Phelps pleaded no contest to the charges against her and was sentenced to 5 months in jail.
